I Write Poetry

I miss the magic, miss the smiles,
Miss my friend, and miss the stars,
Left with only painful memories,
Like so many bleeding scars,

I drown within its chaos,
Hurting for all that it's been through,
Despite its broken pieces,
Still it only beats for you,

You said your love for me was truth,
But then you broke my trust,
Your heart now lying and lost,
Now it's all just ash and dust,

I can't seem to stop this hope,
Can't cease longing for my friend,
I said I would believe in her forever,
And I will do so until my end,

It kills me to see who she's become,
To see the dimming of her light,
I just can't help but love the girl inside,
I cannot help but fight.
