I Write Poetry

Here's an other poem that I've written.

Cruelly awake

Restless nights,
nonexistent dreams.
Clammy feelings,
silent screams.
A mind full of thoughts,
a life full of failures.
A bed full of ghosts,
a man hurt by his tortures.
They all say that I need to change,
do something better with my life.
This charade just isn't working,
feels like my chest is being stabbed with a knife.
Darkness arrives,
insomnia begins.
Voices louder,
unsettledness wins.
Tossing and turning like a tornado,
being swept up in the sheets.
The nagging poundings in my head,
reminding me of all of my defeats.
Who can sleep when you are empty,
how much losing can one person take?
Sleep walking through life day after day,
because forever you are cruelly awake.
Temperature changes,
sadness intensified.
Uncomfortable silence,
fantasies denied.
Laying alone staring at the ceiling,
letdowns inhabiting everything I do.
Wishing for just a couple of hours of sleep,
instead of being a zombie at a quarter after two.
Tears flowing,
damaging heartbreak.
Eyes aching,
cruelly awake.

I could relate to this one. Nicely written. But it's sad that you feel this way. I hope you could find a way to change that.
