I Write Poetry
His heart aflame with love
yet ached with pains
as he dwelled in the mire
of a forever unkind world
Slowly he pulled the blaze from his chest
and set to it with implements
of destruction
He chopped, sliced, cut
smashed and shattered the shine
Till all that was left was countless bits of ember laying in a heap at his feet
His hand reached down
fist closing on chunks of inferno
sorrow rolling down his cheek
He thrust it
into the black void above
Scattering the remnants
in the endless night
Never again shall he bleed
forever so shall the fires glow,
in solitude, alone,
adrift amidst bodies in the celestial cemetery
of gods and lovers
He gave his heart unto the heavens
and let its angels decide
how, where, when,
and to whom its splintered fragments are sent
The stars
his hearts legacy
each twinkle a smile
each flicker a wink
Upon each one falling
a wish made.
He spent his life giving away
parts of himself
And with a broken heart
he had more pieces to share with the world
Though the man may die
his heart carries on his plight
Doing its best to light up the darkness
and make the world just
one smile brighter
His story lays
in and of the stars
yet ached with pains
as he dwelled in the mire
of a forever unkind world
Slowly he pulled the blaze from his chest
and set to it with implements
of destruction
He chopped, sliced, cut
smashed and shattered the shine
Till all that was left was countless bits of ember laying in a heap at his feet
His hand reached down
fist closing on chunks of inferno
sorrow rolling down his cheek
He thrust it

Scattering the remnants

Never again shall he bleed
forever so shall the fires glow,

adrift amidst bodies in the celestial cemetery
of gods and lovers
He gave his heart unto the heavens
and let its angels decide
