I Have Lost a Beloved Pet

After my dog passed away, I dreamed about her for 6 months.
My dreams were filled with guilt for the decision I had to make to put her down.
Dreams of carrying her to the vet by foot, finding her all alone in a forest, or on the side of the road, or lying on a bed, dead.
Then one night, I had the strangest dream.
It wasn't like I was in a good mood that night.
I dreamed she was laying on my neck, alive and well. Warming me up.
It was like I was half awake. I've never felt anything so real, yet not?
When I woke, coldness struck my neck. And I got chills.
I immediately sat up and cried.
It was so warm, it was somewhere I'd love to be for the rest of my life.
Even now, I get chills thinking about it. And I get emotional.
Because I really feel that somewhere she was reaching out to me to tell me she loves me.
And that it's okay.
I will never forget that.
