I Am Always Improving Myself

Why do people allow others to manipulate them and not even know it? There is a roommate of mine who is 3 months late on rent. She plays the victim card and the other roommates feel sorry for her and don't want to kick her out. When they try to make her , she'll make them feel sorry for her. That's how someone can be late on their rent for 3 months!!
