@Catzgano: No, Buddy Holly, Rich Vali and the Big Booper were killed in a plane crash in the '50's I believe, way before John Lennon was shot. I spelled some of the names wrong.

@Jodiegee & Catzgano: Don McLean wrote and performed a song called American Pie. In the song, there's a bit that says "the day, the music died". I'm pretty sure that he's referring to the plane crash you've (Jodigee) mentioned.
