I Love to Learn

A few years ago I lived in the cute little house. It had a fenced in yard and a nice neighborhood. But the inside needed some TLC. So I cleaned and painted, and the only thing that was needed to make it look awesome was the floors. The tile was wore. There were places you could see the old wood floors. I thought about tearing the flooring up but.. nope I just wanted to get settled in. So I got myself some real nice rugs to place over my bad spots. I thought...cool, all is well now.
Through the months I was constantly straightening-up the rugs. A pain in my butt! More work than it was worth.
One day I decided to remove the rugs, doing so .. I had an insightful life lesson I heard inside my head that day.
I have done this exact act before but with my own self.
It was hard to face, accept that I.. myself had some bad spots in me that I have learned to cover-up/mask. I had spent most of my life hiding my faults, flaws, old spots. I finally got tried of wearing my masks to cover-up .. so I bared it all! That day I freed myself. I allowed imperfection to be upfront and visible.
Good for you! Great post

Thank you. I still think of that day. It was a turning point for me.@DayDreaming2
So im guessing those are vinyl tiles or linoleum not ceramic floors eh?

yup, they were. @SStarfish
We have grayish blue linoleum "tiles" in our house.. I watch a lot of home remodeling/updating shows and hardwood floors are all the rage nowadays.. If your floors are in good condition you might consider having them refinished :) or just polishing them as is idk :)

By the time I moved from that house, I did get ceramic tiles. Now I live in an awesome home with an awesome man. He saw my bad floors and my not so good spots in me ... Living happily ever after. ;-) @SStarfish

I had no idea how much work it was to keep those rugs in place to hide the bad spots. Or how hard it was to continue in always hiding my own .. not so pretty areas of myself. Thank you. @Love4All
