On some forums, yeah people tend to write entire novels.

@HoochieTheClown It does depend on the writer I think. Some write well and it’s interesting..others well..

@SW-User I think a lot of the questions on Quora though are a little more deep and would call for longer posts.
I am on there but not allowed to post cause somehow they knew I was using a fake name, even though the name could be a legit one that is not even real unusual.

@HoochieTheClown Just use another person's name then. I was using a funny name then I got moderated on there.

There’s some good stuff on Quora but also a lot of opinionated nonsense written by some who say they were a chemical engineer for NASA for ten years (which probably means they cleaned toilets for a living !)
And some of the anti-vaccination dross currently on there.....

Different forums, different types of responses.
I expect the same from stack overflow and rarely respond to the questions nor post any questions.
It's easier to find the answer you need by just searching the site.

Most of time, they're taking everything seriously. I can't stand it if I need random answers from weird or stupid questions like on Yahoo Answers
HoochieTheClown · 51-55, F
@Anhedonia Check out a forum called "Is It Normal".
Most of the time it is civil but there is a fair amount of jackassery on there too. You need kind of a thick skin though cause yeah some of them are rather "blunt" to put it nice.

@HoochieTheClown Thank you for your info. Gonna check the forum soon. Seems that it's the best choice to replace Yahoo Answers.
