I first heard this song and saw the video on Mtv when i couldn't really understand the lyrics (poor English skills) but it was a nice surprise to see that they meant exactly what i had pieced together from the video.

sad but rings true :) I know it's a remake but i like this version best, probably because it was the first one i heard and it was deeply engraved in my memory by the time i heard other versions.
