I Like Dogs

Lives of dogs are short, too short, but l know that going in. I know the pain is coming, I'm going to lose a dog, and there's going to be great anguish, so l live fully in the moment with him, never fail to share his joy or delight in his innocence, because l can't support the illusion that a dog can be mine lifelong companion.
