I Like Dogs

Today, my brother came home from work, and was followed by my neighbor's pit bull.

It was a male pit bull, and for some reason, it was very excited. It wasn't violent nor was it angry, and it wasn't trying to bite either, it was just very excited and playful.

Afterwards, I decided to play with it and I really liked it, and found it funny as it tried to lick me several times as well as climb on my leg, and it really proves that pit bulls aren't these violent killers everyone makes them out to be.

I still really wanted to know why it was so excited, however, and the neighbor said that it's just the dog's (not the breed) nature and that it just gets excited a lot.

Although it was brief, I really liked that dog, and it kind of tears me up inside how much I've always wanted a dog, yet never got one.

I am glad you had a chance to experience the pleasant nature of pit bulls. A lot of them are very sweet natured. They actually used to be called nanny dogs because, in general, they are very good with kids.
As with all breeds, they have their issues. I do think they have, unfairly, gotten a bad rap. It's true, pit bulls can be dangerous but I wouldn't say they were any more viscous than any other breed in their category.
Right now, I am in school to become a dog trainer. There are 20 people in my class and probably 25 pit bulls we are working with. Aside from one, they are all very sweet and good natured.

We did have the best dog but we gave it away. :(
