I Write Dark Poetry

I have a new affinity, churning out mediocre poetry ingrained in misery .....

The door abruptly closes, the darkness has overcome the light,
Not a crack in the doorway, don't have the might, much too weary to try and open the seal or try to fight,

You went your way, I went my way, both keeping our feelings at bay,
No longer can your heart be touched or swayed,

The ocean is deep and the tide washes away all the memories which we both left behind,
Just dreams to escape our fate which has left both of us currently blind,

I can not read your mind and no longer touch you inside,
You have made it very clear, it is not with me you choose to confide,

The heavy door weighs so much, it has a lock which keeps us both far away, not able to touch,
Like a message in a bottle floating in the vast sea, it really doesn't matter much,

Within that bottle are tears, fears and many passing years,
We can not steer or hold dear, a forgotten past when nobody is willing to listen or hear,

Tomorrow is forever to those who choose to forget and live again,
Not to reflect on things and people from the past who have become ghosts who now pretend, and who never really tried to bend,

All my poems are fall of emotions and feelings I might never fully comprehend,
For I have become so cold inside, no more care or love to send,

I accept the reality that my soul was never meant to blend,
With another's soul whose heart like mine just might never mend,

The reality of indifference and silence has beaten me to a mere shadow of my former self,
As you once told me, I too now give up, waiting and hoping is no longer enough....
