I don’t advocate violence. Every woman I have ever spanked was a consenting adult who I happened to be in a relationship with. There is quite a difference between discipline and abuse. Please don’t go starting issues where there are none.

I think it begins with a caring and supportive society and social welfare system that supports parents to parent effectively. I used to be a foster carer. Parenting isn't always an instinctive skill that everyone knows how to do, it's also cyclical, so often if people were not parented properly themselves, they don't know how to parent their own children.
