Do you think after a certain number of severe illnesses, you become weaker?

There may be no, as strong as you were?

That is possible but I would do everything in my power to stay strong and fit.
StokedFox · 36-40, F
@SweetMae you're right. Thank you.

@StokedFox You are welcome. I hope you feel better very soon.

@SweetMae thank you I hope so too. My son seems to becoming affected by it. It's breaking my heart.

Definitely. It just depends on what damage the illness did. If it was severe, then there will be severe, lasting damage. The body can come back stronger sometimes, but other times, there's just too much damage.

Certain illnesses will certainly leave you weaker.
TexChik · F
After 1 you’d be severely weakened

I think it's the opposite. Once your body has to fight to heal it builds up and becomes stronger. Some may use cancer as an example of it becoming weaker but it's the chemo that destroys you.

@curiosi I wonder about infections though and my immunity. And how it's been snowballing from there. Maybe I'm just losing my fight...
curiosi · 61-69, F
@StokedFox Could be that the underlying cause has yet to be determined. Odd how things snowball and by the time it's all traced back it makes no sense.

I don't think so. It depends on the illness, but the body adjusts. If we became weaker from general illness we wouldn't have survived as a species.

There are limits, it's up to the individual. For me, I want to come back stronger every time something hits me.

They tend to compound each other in my experience, yeah.
