Is there a difference between disagreeing with someone and Opposing somebody?

Appparently my family can't tell the difference between the two. They feel like I'm in some kind of opposition against them ONLY BECAUSE OF THE FACT I disagree with some of the things they say. And I'm not talking "Oh my opinion is better than yours". I'm talking "Oh, that's a good point but I personally think ____". There isn't any kind of opposition towards them on my end. They're the ones who create the opposition for themselves by acting like there is one when there never was any to begin with. Sigh.
