I think being clued up and well-read about stuff can be a good thing, but that 'intellectualism' is a class or something like a class where there is a sort of pride in involved; I think the latter can become like a poison that affects the mind in such a way that one takes in so much and then often becomes overly confident in and delusional about one's intellect and understanding that one becomes relatively unteachable and sort of imprisoned in a relatively fake alternative reality.
