How to answer what are your expectations of an hourly wage on a Application?

I have taken job search classes recently. You can research what jobs pay based on job type, what business, years of experience, etc. You are not supposed to put "Open" or "Negotiable" or similar things. 13 might be a safe starting point.

$200/hr + expenses, cc, and company car but willing to negotiate.

Could you write in that it's negotiable?

leave open or put a question mark there,

Answer with the going rate at that company, or in that industry.
It will show that you did some research.
If you ask for the minimum, I am sure many employers will be all to happy to pay you that.

Don't sell yourself short. Explain that you are worth the extra money.

in slump economy don't ask for more..is now minimum 13

If you’re as qualified as your friend, out $13/hr.
