Do people give rude answers only to make them feel better?

I feel if someone can't think of a way to express their thoughts without being rude, it says more about their mentality and their character than they can ever say about you, so either delete the rude ones or ignore them. If you can't do that, cut them off at the knees by putting them in their place, in the most polite and mature way possible, showing them up as idiots. There is so much disdain that can be expressed in a few well worded, courteous sentences.

All I know for certain is that giving a rude answer has never actually made me feel better, but I can only answer for myself.

However, if I were to guess, I would think that if someone gives rude answers its either an expression of frustration or anger, or it's a character trait they were allowed to develop as they were growing up. Either way I've never actually studied this, so I could be incorrect.

They do it because their lives are f$cked up so they can feel superior by doing that or maybe you just said something very stupid they couldn't take it.
