I Admire Nurses

I love nurses and am thankful for them, especially because I am relaying so much on them to get me and Bella to term!

This hospital is supposed to be the best around for high risk pregnancy and 9/10 of the nurses are amazing, but you know there is always that one nurse.

Now along with preeclampsia which is why I am in the hospital I have been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum since the beginning of my pregnancy and it took 3-4 months for my doctors to find a cocktail that helped with the constant nausea and puking!

Well today the nausea hit me like a ton of bricks, and than ran me over by an 18 wheeler. I asked for my nausea meds (phenergan) she brings me zofran to try first, I let her know it's not going to work and it gives me horrible constipation but she said to give it a try because phenergan will make me sleepy.

Like lady, I get it, I understand it will make me sleepy, but you know what else it will do? It will stop me from puking. But hey she's the professional so I give her a chance and she also brings me crackers and gingernale! Well I am for sure not touching the gingernale so I gave it to hubby as he loves them.

An hour passes still super nauseated so I call for her and she brings me my phenergan but tells me that it will make me sleepy. I get it, I really do, but I am laying in a hospital bed, what else do you want me to do? My son & husband are taking a nap anyways, so what's so bad if it makes me sleepy!

Tomorrow makes 4 weeks that I've been here , I know what works, I understand that they are professionals, and all but I am educated on what works for me.

Like I said I love nurses and most of them are amazing and I am so thankful for them, and this is only the 3rd time I've had an issue with a nurse, it's just frustrating for me I guess.

It's nice to see a post where someone appreciates what most of us Nurses do ❤

Without reading all of that - I agree - they deal with a lot. Very stressful job...
