I Love Halloween

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. sadly i live in France where it isn't something that is really celebrated. i've always had that dream of getting all dressed up and walking from house to house with a couple of friends collecting candy and appreciating other people's costumes. i wish that halloween could last a full month (or was celebrated for a whole month). imagine everyday you wake up and you can decide to dress up as a completely different character. i've always loved dressing up. there's something so wonderful about being someone else for a change. that sounds a little depressing though doesn't it? although i guess that i do that already in my daily life. i don't have a particular style. i wish i did (kind of) so that when i would go shopping for things i'd be trying to find things that fit that one style. my closet is filled with so many items ranging from items that could belong to a 1950s pinup, others to a grieving widow or post war schoolgirl, and even just mainstream everyday adidas Stan Smith wearing typical girl. when i was younger i use to be really afraid of having a personality disorder (yes i know it sounds extreme) mostly because i was friends/knew people that only liked a particular genre of music or movie or activity. i was always that one girl that was constantly floating on a cloud, that could listen to Billie Holiday and then switch to listening to Led Zep. i didn't fit any mold, i was just a collection of things. i didn't even have a particular group of friends. once i ended up in a 'clique' of some sort, at some point it would tire me and i yearned for something more. i've always wished to meet the people in the books i read and when i die i hope that heaven looks like a grand garden where all of my favorite artists and writers sip tea and read poetry to each other under a Florentine sky.

got a little side tracked there but all this to say that i wish i knew more people that loved Halloween as much as i do and would be willing to dress up and wander the streets at night howling to the fluorescent moon!
