I Admire Martin Luther King Jr

I also admire MLK for his work in racial reconciliation. But he was not the man to look up to when it came to marital fidelity. The night before he was killed , he was in that hotel room with prostitutes. Dont take my word for it. Look up what his friend Ralph Abernathy said about it. He was also mentored politically by communists. I dont post this to be negative, but to let people know that there is more than one side to many famous people. JFK himself warned MLK to stay away from the communists. Again, dont take my word for it.

You espouse admiration but deliver detraction. Over the years, I have heard the allegations of infidelity but never heard anything about prostitutes or communists. Unfortunately, in these times, any talk of social justice is labeled as socialist or communist.

@GrinNude I disagree. He would not be espousing the social Justice values that are in vogue today.

@lyle687276 Such as?

@GrinNude CRT, reparations, attempting to erase history. MLK is someone to look up to. The proponents of “social Justice” are not.

I remember he had the black panthers around him so I figured something was up with this guy and I never really read up on him. I hear he did a lot of good and that he was for equal rights. I wonder what he would be like in today’s era. Would he go along with the activists of today or would he teach something differently like actual equality?

I don't take your word for it. It sounds like racist slander to me. What are your sources?
lyle687276 · 70-79, M
@GrinNude I’m not racist in the least. I heard it from trusted sources years ago. Like I said, do your own searching.

@lyle687276
I heard it from trusted sources years ago.
😅 Did you intend for that to be funny?
JFK himself warned MLK to stay away from the communists
But not from extramarital sex I suppose. JFK as a mentor could be problematic in some areas. 😄

It's interesting to consider the extent to which we should allow what we judge or suspect to be a person's faults, to prevent us from admiring other aspects of their personality, or any of their real accomplishments.

But it's not in the nature of racists and political or other ideologists to ask themselves such questions.

It's amusing how, at the word 'communist', so many people shit themselves.

Use another title to defame a man.
This is a form of racism, pure and simple.

I follow ideas...men/women are capable of mistakes. Anyway...

@Velvety I agree. Case in point, our current president .

So he was imperfect. Overall, it was better that he was here. And thankfully, his levelheadedness is what he's remembered for.
