@rosedragonslayer back in the day ,40 yrs ago or so ,we had a Columbian Drug lord flood our country with pot and coke ,
Back then it was my job or part of it to stop as many of his boats as we could ,seize them for resale to put the money back into better boats to stop his
Planes to stop the planes ,and if there is no one to sell it to ,,cuts the battle in 1/2 ,,but it was a joke ,,,Until Clinton finally had him taken out for good ,we were not making a dent ,,but laws on drugs got tougher ,and a lot of nickle and dimers ended up with huge sentences that now seem extreme
but back then people would kill you just as quick for your stash and cash as for anything else .
Heroin and coke was replaced with Crack ,then meth and ice and now its opioid s
People are going to get high no matter what wars we have .
But back in the day it was a big deal ,now with states that have made it legal for recreation ,,its seems stupid for them to be in prison
But they knew the risk back then ,and they took it
So now they need to review them case by case and see if weapons were involved
How much was seized ,was it just weed
I myself was arrested for 3 grams ,,but then 3 grams was a felony
It almost got me kicked out of service ,and I was caught up with 4 other people I would not turn on so they charged me with conspiracy to overthrow the US Government ,,5 people plotting to commit a felony
I plead guilty to a lesser charge and they gave us all deals
But today it seems like its so harmless ,,but in the 70's it was war
And they shot back ,put on contract on us ,and tried to blow us up
It was a dangerous time to live in south Florida
With the Cocaine cowboys and Pablo Escobar ,it was a war on drugs ..
But now with the decay of the US that seems like j walking now days
We have freezer trucks full of bodied in all major cities over overdoses
But its more the Fentanyl mixed with other drugs ,,
Our country is in trouble ,only God can help us now ,its way to big to fix
they are losing the battle ,,now kids are killing cops
Not for money anymore ,,its just to show you got what it takes to join a gang
They actually buy they are now their family ,and they can protect them
the cops sure can't ,,they are shooting them
