anyone find it more difficult to get paid from the richer than another working stiff (construction in particular)?

from time to time some act like it going to cost them more to pay me now. my prices are modest and never the most expensive by any means. I have forty years experience. I can get in and out with out a mess. a middle class/working class wouldn't have me start unless the cash was available and hand it over readily when they are happy with the job at completion. I'm mostly venting here. give me a heart of you've experienced this. thanks for listening
