So what's this about EP shutting down?
I've been away for a while and have seen a couple people mention EP shutting down. Can someone fill me in?

They are shutting it down, because if some reasons they only know. They means the site's owners here. All these peons on this site are whining as if they have a say and they own this place. Having said that, they are pushing the pause button on April 21.

long long message saying they will email each of us asking if we'd like to freeze out account or delete. on April 21st. They say they'll try to reopen some day. and just incase, our profiles will remain.
