What's a more polite term for "bs baffles brains"?

I recently tangled with a very clever, dishonest sole who was very good at making specious gestures to make his position seem strong. Bs baffles brains is a very appropriate way to explain his conduct, but what would have been a term I could use in polite company? In case you don't know, "bs baffles brains" is a technique where someone is able to sound like he knows what he's talking about, but his credibility relies on the ignorance of his audience. So if I was to claim I was a nuclear physicist, I'd talk about leptons, sub-shells, electron capture, and all kinds of jargon you've never heard of, you'd probably think I was a nucular physicist, wouldn't you?

If you were Irish then you would know that B S is the acronym for Blarney Stone

This B A = The pure luck of being part Irish .
