I Am Unique - Just Like Everyone Else

Everybody is different. Even the members in your own family.

My sister was petite and pretty. She had brown hair and eyes, like Mom and me, but there the resemblance ended. She was marred at 18, and had her first child at 19 - the same as Mom AND Grandma did! She married a man who was Cherokee Indian/British English and who started out his working life as a road manager for the rock band the New Colony Six, who got their start in somebody's garage.

My next-to-my-age brother (ten months between us) has three jobs - he works in City Hall, The Democratic Party Office, and for the Mayor of Franklin Park, who is also his lawyer. He is more into politics than any of us, but I wonder if someday he will come back into the city and run for Mayor.

My youngest brother has been married twice. He can only work part-time for the next three years due to the car accident he suffered two years ago (it was the other driver's fault) and it took eighteen months and court appearances to get ANY money at all.

I'm somewhere in the middle there. I am older than both my brothers, younger and plainer than my sister, but I am who I am.

Among the characters in my family - I am unique - just like them.
