Is it weird to sit at a church's step after midnight?

softspokenman · M Best Comment
I think it depends on the reason why someone would sit there. Car ran out of gas, walked 5 miles to find a station, tired, need to sit, it's a church steps.

Someone could be in deep despair, emotional pain, and according to their beliefs sought out a church to find help and comfort. The church could have been locked, however, just sitting on the steps gave them some comfort.

I don't think it's weird, I think it's human.
Thank you for the BA.

I don't see what's wrong with it, really. Of all the places I'd think a church would be a place where people would be allowed to sit when they want.

I have never done that. I think it would be okay, though.
Not necessarily. When I visited my great-uncle in New Orleans he lived in a huge house next to a graveyard (my late grandmaman had also lived in that house over in the 6th Ward). Sometimes my cousins and I would sit on a bench overlooking the crypts late at night, and talk. Every time I tell that story someone thinks it's "spooky" but it really wasn't. I remember my grandmother walking with me past the graves by moonlight when I was a little girl. She once told me, "Ti yon sèl, mouri a pa ka fè ou mal.(The dead cannot hurt you). Watch out for the living."
It's slightly creepy for 2am. Nice French :) so jealous

Creepy but beautiful
