Is craving for someone special's sympathy a sign of weakness?

I don't think so

I think wanting sympathy instead of respect from anyone is a sign of weakness.

"someone's special sympathy" is how I read it to start. Had me all sorts of confused... because YEAH, craving someone's SPECIAL sympathy (whatever that is) is definitely a weakness.

@AlanPartridge: Grrr, it won't change the situation but it just might make someone feel a bit better.

You did say you do offer comfort and sympathy. Why would you do that if it changes nothing?

@AlanPartridge: It may make a difference to her just knowing you care. You've never lost a loved one have you?

I think it kinda is.
