Be honest of those making thanksgiving dinner how many of you are actually also making breakfast?

My husband is insane

The pernil is going to take 5.5-6hrs to make plus the rice

I am doing laundry right now I don’t want to also make breakfast

Arroz con gandules?
KaysHealingPath · 31-35, F
[@1053221,Laughoften] yes sir!

That’s what I’m making for dinner

My mom is charged with making roasted potatoes because that’s what my son wants lol 😆 and a side salad and roasted veggies

But I’ve got the main course marinading now and I’ll head over to her house around 11 to pop it in the oven so it’ll be ready by dinner time

I actually know this feeling.

Not sure how involved breakfast is, but it sounds like too much.
KaysHealingPath · 31-35, F
[@444927,Classified] pancakes, eggs, bacon, sautéed peppers and onions and sausage links and hash browns 🥴

[@7704,KaysHealingPath] Too much! ❌

My husband got up and made himself pancakes before I even rolled over 🤣
FreeSpirit1 · 46-50, F
No one is here so I just made toast and coffee, I'd make breakfast if they were here though
NCCindy · 31-35, F
[@917533,saragoodtimes] Just finished blueberry pancakes !!!
[@371617,NCCindy] sounds delicious. asked Alan for a waffle iron for Christmas
NCCindy · 31-35, F
[@917533,saragoodtimes] When it comes to pancakes, I used to make small ones. I wnet to a restaurant that served plate size ones and I decided I prefer them that way.

I use two big frying pans on the stove. Two is a nice meal.

Made scrambled eggs this morning...everything prepared except for the breaded mushrooms, but need to cook or heat a few things.

Whenever I do Thanksgiving dinner I do not make breakfast. Might go to Starbucks or something when they open but generally the kitchen is occupied from about 4am on
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Up at 6:30 am. Still having my coffee....Ham goes in the oven at 10 am for 2.5 hrs. While that is cooking I will be making....mashed potatoes...corn...green bean casserole...stuffing...deviled eggs...gravy and pies. Then pack it all up and take to house bound inlaws for 2 pm late afternoon lunch!
[@27773,PTCdresser57] the turkey is in the oven. my mom and mother-in-law will take care of everything else while I'm at the hospital
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
With only the 4 of us we decided this yr we would only do ham. At least you have backup helpers!
Aboomachu · 31-35, M

[@917533,saragoodtimes] that’s fantastic!! I hope you have a nice day today. My daughter and I are going to do a food swap and together we made a complete meal. I’m thankful she’s right around the corner and we are making the best of it. Enjoy your family later!

Just a slice of pie for me . It’s fend for yourself on holiday mornings around here
[@113373,TexChik] love making a nice holiday breakfast. have to hold them until the feast starts
TexChik · F
[@917533,saragoodtimes] There is stuff all over the place to eat . They made a breakfast casserole that smells good and we brought a ton of crispy cream donuts. These kids live 90 miles from any large town ... so they are a big hit with them . I just like a little tea and my pie . 😉
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
I’ll be cooking dinner shortly. I also cooked breakfast a few hours ago. She’s got a great deal. ;)
Breakfast was Kroger's "Fruit on the Bottom" yogurt.

We told our usual list of 15-20 guests "not this year."

So we had Bratwurst, rice and cauliflower (covered with melted cheddar) for lunch and plan on Hamburgers from the grill for dinner.

Turkeys everywhere are rejoicing and now a pig (ham) has joined in as well....

Happy Thanksgiving!!
