Why do people post so much of their personal life online?

Cause we are so damn lonely inside .
@JustLikeGreta Im not here for judging anyone..

@JustLikeGreta I miss you Barbara, 😔 we used to have so many great conversations. I miss that.💙🥀 See you "on the other side!"

Because value nowadays is gaining the attention of others. Many fail to admit it but social medias breeds more narcissists daily. By posting their drama online, they get noticed and their posts gets lots of hearts or likes or comments which not only makes them feel valued but that their post has substance.

Because many need and want people to care! 😢And I always cared about YOU, I wish so much you'd have shared with me how sick you were. We were so close at one time and now you're gone.💙🥀I'm sure you had your reasons Babs...I will forever hold you in my heart...💗God now holds you in his hands.🌟 Rest in peace my beautiful sister.

because they're insecure, and seek validation though popularity.

and so they can complain about invasion of privacy later... *cough* facebook *cough*

I'm one of those people that promised never to talk about my personal life on the internet, but it's just so easy to do even though I shouldn't.

The woman on here who does this is putting herself in danger I believe
@SW-User agreed. One must be careful.

Maybe hoping that someone will respond in kind? 🤨
@ReneeT yes.
...good question. I think that it is a blend of:

1) ppl LOVE talking about themselves;

2) the "spotlight effect" which you see when someone gets given the spotlight for a bit by the host of a radio, television, etc., show;

3) the desire to both fill dead air and be interesting when they DO have the spotlight (a little silence from the host can orod this, or a comment which asks a query along an interesting/titillating line of conversation);

4) the inability to remember the reach of radio, tv, internet when one is doing all that compulsory confession.

I think that explains why people go on shows like Howard Stern, Jerry Springer, etc., and simply will NOT shut up or consider the consequences of having their sudden sharing, secrets, blurted confessions be forever available...

Because they see SW as a church or mental institution and personal conversation becomes daily group therapy ? 🤔😳🤭🥳
@SW-User perhaps.

Freeranger · M
See....that's the thing. I would suggest that they do it because no one else is listening to them in real time, sadly enough.
Most of it is fake. Now excuse me while I put on a diaper and spank my sister in public.
@LeopoldBloom haha! made me laugh.
