Sure, they get engrained early on through socialization and I didn't personally realize that until my 20s. I think it's something everyone has to work through.

I say no. Most people would answer "NO" to this question but the truth is in the choice of words when describing other ethnicities or in our attitude when interacting with them.

I try not to have, it's more of a type of person it is, not the race, attitude and the way they present themselves, but I guess that does make me racist in a way.

@REMsleep I wasn't brought up to hate,but can't say my dad didnt have some odd ideas about other people,sometimes we carry something over,hope that's not the case with me,never agreed with him there.

Nope. None. It takes some effort and thinking but one can truly be non racist.

@quitwhendone I'm not yet convinced that someone can be totally non racist because there is a fine line between learning to recognize threats and developing assumptions based on prior information and prejudice. We also absorb so much information that we don't often evaluate for truthfulness or merit.

@SW-User Although having preconceived positive notions can be very damaging such as assuming that all East Asians are really smart or that Native Americans honor nature, prejudice has a clearly negative connotation. So no that doesn't count for this question.

I don’t think so. Despite what so many people say, and maybe all the blonde hair dye has effected me, but I don’t recall ever assuming anything negative about a person due to their ethnicity.
