Morbid question of the day:
Have you ever seen a dead body (besides at a funeral)? If so, how?

Funerals are obvious, normal answers. What other situations have you seen one?

My answer is boring- I worked with a couple dozen dead bodies in my anatomy class.

So you’re becoming a doctor?
amelia23 · 22-25, F
[@370417,Motherfuckerjones] pre-med but not to be a doctor

Does A week or a day before the funeral count ?
amelia23 · 22-25, F
[@211649,lonelyandyb] in an unconventional way, such as finding them, yes. Seeing them in the funeral home before the funeral, no.

I've had to identify two former clients and one relative.
The relative was expected but the two clients wasn't.
amelia23 · 22-25, F
[@448576,Picklebobble2] you had to identify clients? Why not their families instead?

[@814059,amelia23] I was their Social Worker at the time.
One was a heavy drug user and alcoholic and the other was an un-diagnosed Schizophrenic.

It's crazy. I stopped believing in God after I started seeing dead bodies.

I've seen a few. While in the Army. I'd rather pass on that.

The last one was when outside, in my apartment complexes courtyard about 15 yrs ago. Found a guy lying in his own blood having stumbled in from the other street. It was around 3am and he'd been stabbed. Found out about it when the police came up to my door because they'd seen my light on to ask me if I'd heard anything and if I might know him. I hadn't, was playing a game online and didn't know him when they had me go down to id him.
amelia23 · 22-25, F
[@591013,MrPerditus1] that sounds awful, did it bother you?
MrPerditus1 · 56-60, M
[@814059,amelia23] I did to an extent. I mean I didn't know the person, but still reminded myself that he had been a living, breathing person. Another friend told me not to care because he was probably a junkie or something. I pointed out that just because he was out late didn't mean anything like that. At the time though, I was a little disconnected from the situation and talked to my therapist about it later because I didn't like how after the Army and many other things, I didn't react as much as I think I should have.
