I Am Single

Long Division... How many times have I tried life's equation; subtract, divide, carry the one.....only to end up with a remainder. *sighs. The parallel of life's comparison to long division. Although do we take the shortcut and use a calculator, rely on others for the bottom line? No, it is far better and rewarding to do the work ourselves in this thing called life. Enjoy the adding and making up of our number, of ourselves, and where it will bring us. Like dividing and subtracting out soulsuckers who weigh down or skew the end result. Subtracting those who do not exactly fit into our geometric series or any partial fraction that we can reduce it to. Instead though we want to jump ahead, take the shortcut using the calculator, to arrive at that final whole number we think is 2. Unknowingly losing out on many different quotient partner possibilities.

Personally, I prefer these long division quests. Sometimes I forget to carry the one, and end up at the wrong solution. I keep my chin up, move on and start over with a new number; subtract, divide, carry the one.......and just maybe this time I may have found my numerical solution, the one I have been looking for that makes me whole.

Good writing, but love as is life, remains a moving target for me! Actually, my wife and I are just ending a 40 year marriage. We thought that we were soul mates, and we were, for 26, years when the marriage became comfortable, as in stale boring and dull, but I dont think that either of us realized that for quite some time! People always change, and all that I can do personally, is accept not just my wife, but all people, for who they are and move forward. I almost never get what I want, but being able to accept things, makes my life much easier and much happier, too! Thanks for the story!

I actually read this twice because it was so darn unique. What a unique perspective and I really like the way you explained it. I agree...awesome!

Thank you honey! after i first read it i thought it might be a little cold an uncompassionate ......but yes its just a unique analogy or perspective. ;)
