Totally, I mean I know they're people and matter just as much as those I interact with physically, but still I don't want to feel an obligation on a site like that, real life is already full of people who have expectations. I'm supposed to relax here.

Similar. I never understood the need to constantly check in with other people. I don't like constant greeting messages that aren't going anywhere either. But when it stops, they assume a person doesn't care about them.
@SW-User Agreed! Last guy I dated would text me good morning every day and not another word. Wouldn't actually "talk" to me for a week, sometimes two. Good morning texts mean nothing and I got tired of that.
