Does it ever rub you in the wrong way how priests or any religious leaders make a lot of money?

EuphoricTurtle · 41-45, M
Yes it does. But I mostly find it weird that those who "follow" them aren't offended by this.

@Synapse: I am religious myself, and I'm very bothered by it. Also, I don't follow them.
EuphoricTurtle · 41-45, M
@offingg: I meant follow loosely (hence the "follow"). Religious leaders/priests are supposed to be the ones who are supposed to lead the flock, to lead by example, the ones who preach and convey the true meaning (their interpretation) of the holy texts. More often than not they are the ones that are telling us we should live modest lives.

Yes, most of them are a lot of freeloading parasites. I often wonder where all the money goes

I wonder too.... @WaltzingMatilda:

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Whenever I think about it. I agree that those people should make a good living, but the excessive lifestyles they love are just vulgar and wasteful. The money isn't used for "godly" purposes at all

Also how they stress people (even the poor sometimes) to make donations. While they live their lives to the fullest, sometimes I find them preaching thigs they don't even do. @OnusProbandi:
@offingg: that is very unethical. It's just wrong.

Omg, a known date rapist from my high school is now a "spiritual leader". A lot of them are con men & scammers. You have to be to pack a church in 2017.

@Selah: EEEEK, that is vile
It's an industry as everything else. Profit is the main cause.
@Synapse: Lolz. Neither would still make me want to join.

I have more important things to think about. Like what I'm going to eat for breakfast.

Then you probably shouldn't have commented. It's easy. @aztecwolf:

It's hard to regard any religion with anything but skepticism when you see the money many of them make.

I used to fixate on that, but it's not worth it without the laughter:)
