Do town dumps still exist?

As a kid, Saturdays at the town dump was a blast...you found the most interesting stuff.

When I was young you could drop stuff off at any time.. Now they lock it up the town dump. The stuff must have great value to do that :O

The usually don't let people scrounge on dumps any more because the council is afraid of getting sued

In San Bernardino County only the city Dump trucks are allowed in and there are two pipes from out underground burning off gases .

Ours is open 4 days a week for dropping garbage, yard clippings and recycling. there is also a free store where folks leave usable things they don't want.
