Hugs tend to be awkward anyway. The pat is just a nice way to say, "OK, we can let go now."

I rub them more than pat.. I can also undo a bra without them even noticing

i rub their shoulder when i shake their hand

Same with the occasional little circular rub

Haha I am touchy. When someone makes me laugh I will put my hand on their arm or hit their leg playfully... Then I feel awkward 😂
