Does anyone at home always think aloud?

Like my mom. She is always speaking a commentary of everything she's doing. It's super annoying especially when I'm trying to sleep. Like "I'm finding the hairpin....where is it? Where is it?...got it! Oh. Let me just switch off this light...but let me just check the kitchen. Okay done now. I'm sitting down to rest a bit. Ah peace. Gotta chop tomatoes now....slicing onions now...time to peel potatoes....." UGH.

I used to work with a woman like that. I told her she lived her life outloud. She didn't know what I was talking about.

@Goralski: I guess you don't want her phone number?

I do this to a degree. I think it's a way for people to help keep themselves on track, process and organize information, modulate other impulses like wandering attention or anxiety, and smooth transitions.

If I am home alone, yes. That is only because there have been times where I have heard voices before, home alone, so I keep it not completely quiet.

I do this way too much. When I'm in my room or if I'm home alone I'll just commentate on everything, even stopping in front of a mirror to talk for a few seconds.

My mother is the same, I wish I could smack her in the head and tell her to stfu :/
I feel like people like that are trying to drown out the voices in their head.
sometime if alone i whisper my thoughts ^_^

Oh god you poor thing
Oh so like narrating her life? First things first? Does she sound like Morgan Freeman?
SW-User
No. She sounds like a stressed out mom.

Sometimes, my mom, too ☺
