Do you ever store dangerous liquids in old drinking containers? Ex store bleach in water bottles or gasoline in 2L pop bottles?

I just wanna know if this is normal cause I live with someone who does this?

No I don’t do that. It is very dangerous. Heard of someone that did it at the university, put some cleaning chemical in a soft drink bottle and forgot & took a sip and had to go to the hospital because of it.

This is what sane people call "a significant red flag"
chrisCA · M
That is dangerous if you have small children.
Even in our workplaces, we have regulations about how hazardous items are stored, and dispensed.

@chrisCA I heard of it in a place where I worked. Some kind of cleaning liquid was put in an empty Coke can and an employee thought it was her drink & took a sip. That was about 30 years ago.

@cherokeepatti I cringe at how health and safety standards used to be in the past.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@chrisCA Yeah everyone got an annual safety training and they told about this incident. I worked with a woman from another country who wanted the pesticide lady to leave some of the pesticide with her in a pop bottle. I spoke up over that.

Liberals tend to do that.

@chrisCA no they don't come out of their scared state

I’m not American! Thankfully! Stop airing your dirty laundry to everyone else! We are happy! Sorry you are not! @MasterLee Don’t presume the rest of the world gives 2 shits about your Liberal Republican war. We dont.

@DoubleRings sorry, no fucks to give

There's a BBC programme I saw when I was a kid where a 12 year old girl drank bleach by accident, her mother had it in a lemonade bottle in a press under her kitchen sink, the child was out playing on a hot day, ran in looking for a drink, remembering seeing lemonade in there she took a huge swig, she was destroyed for life, all her esophagus was burned and she could no longer eat or drink through her mouth😢😭
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@SW-User well we don’t have kids but still that’s horrible

I have mixed up a homemade cleaning solution to clean the shower (Dawn, vinegar & water) and put it in a glass jar and keep it in my bathroom cleaning bucket. Pretty sure no one is going to try to drink that.

Only plant food and it's clearly marked as Poison ☠️, only use it to mix and pour it out in plants as don't want to contaminate anything else.
theAlchemist · 56-60, M
No, I'm not stupid enough to do that. That person you live with needs to STOP doing that - or be evicted or you move out.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@theAlchemist they had it in our leases in the last apartment I lived in that you couldn’t store gasoline inside the apartment. If they got caught doing that it would have been eviction time.

No, I thought everyone learned how stupid and dangerous this was back in the 80s

Only for a quick measure and transfer. That plastic is way too thin for long term storage.
