Why must my employer do this?

Some may recall that Bamazon reported that many employees would receive between 50 cent and $3 raises. I got 25 cents. A coworker got $2. Another coworker got nothing. What the hell?

Cause their s➖ employers !

They do this stuff because they think it motivates people to be better......rather than causing resentment which is what it actually does !

@Picklebobble2 They do love dangling that carrot just out of reach.

@pattycakechamp Until people learn not to accept this kind of behaviour as in any way 'fair' they'll keep getting away with it.

They weren't the first and they won't be the last.

I issue challenges for the raises.all started at $12.00. some are up to $16.00 now others still at $12.00

@MarineBob The joke is that we'd make more if we quit and reapplied.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@MarineBob Some are worth more than others based on how they approach the challenge. How very capitalistic of you Bob. Bring more value and you make more $$
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@carpediem they're simple challenges.little do they know that on Friday anyone who is not at $15.00 will be let go

Because Beff Jezos wanted to go on a vacation probably. Y'all worked so he could fly a private jet to the moon and back in his ridiculous bow tie and shiny egghead.

Find a different job if you don't like it. Plenty out here if you live in the US. No one says you need to sit back and take it. If you're worth more, go out and earn it.

@pattycakechamp That's a shame. I'm guessing your current employer understands what the job market is and is responding to conditions locally.

I'm only guessing, but if the pay raises are different for some people over others, then it's mid-level managers making the recommendations as to who gets what and when. Therefore, I'd do something to make yourself stand out as a better employee. It's the old work your way to the top attitude.

@carpediem It's amazon, you don't stand out. Plus it's literally random how they distribute this stuff. I know, it doesn't make sense.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@pattycakechamp There's always a way to better yourself. If amazon doesn't see it, another employer will. Just don't give up on making yourself someone who gives it her all.
Ahh Amazon. Ran by Lex Luther

@Eternity That's why they doled out the sporadic raises, to keep enough employees from wanting to unionize.
