Why can't the government do something about these spam callers?

SW-User
I'm right there with you. They passed a law but how do you hold someone accountable that you can't pin down because they spoof other people's numbers all the time. The phone companies are supposed to be held responsible for it, coming up with free software that will weed it all out, but so far, I haven't seen Verizon doing anything much for free. They are always trying to get me to pay for the expanded service. 馃檮

Lately, I keep getting calls from Christine at National Disability. Various numbers, always the same spiel. The other day, they called 6 times. So annoying.
They have tried but technology outruns the law every time

Our Govt has a "do not call" list that makes it an offence for businesses within the country to call us, if you register. Which still leaves the international scammers of course.

@whowasthatmaskedman I've done that months ago and I still get unwanted calls from 'car warranty' companies.

@TheArbitrator Tell the next one you are on the register and to delete your number. If they dont, report them.

They don't seem to care, I get daily calls from the same "Your vehicle warranty has expired..........." I report every day and nothing is done.

why? dont you need a dew car warrantee?

they did, and several states too BUT there is no money for enforcement
so the national do not call registry is useless
