Whats the fastest speed(in km/hr) you have ever driven your car?

My dad used to drive our Maruti 800 usually at speed of 40-60 km/hr. The fastest he have driven it was at 65 km/hr. Yeah he used to drive our car slowly and safely.

Not very fast. I don’t like to speed, max 130km maybe?
SW-User
@helenS minimum speed is 100km on the highway in nz, so you have to be over it! I was pulled over for being under, so I learned my lesson. I haven’t managed to drive a car in China though lol

@Maruti800isthebest right? I was under the impression that 100 was that maximum, but I was pulled over for going 80 and apparently I was too slow. I should probably review the rules now that I’m back in my home country lol!
He might have anxiety about driving. I did for the longest time, but I had no choice because I needed a way to get to important conferences ages away from me.
@helenS lmao.. I am the intoxicant

@Jdanielb Maybe I wouldn't pay attention to the speed because of you. 🌼
@Maruti800isthebest oh it's highly illegal.. once you go a certain speed.. most cops dont want to bother... a chase might interfere with their life if it goes on to long

About 150kph. On an outback road in Australia. It was straight as anything.
Lanyx · 41-45, M
180km/h in a 120km/h zone on an urban highway. Kept that speed for few seconds before backing off. Car was a 1987 Nissan Sentra SGLi

Fastest under my control: Cessna 172 (ZS-VIR) 140kt (260km/h) in an inadvertent dive. I flew into a cloud (with an instructor) and didn't pay attention to the instruments. The scream of the engine alerted me that something is wrong. I recovered at a safe height.

@Bushmanoz Goodness me no! I have never ridden a motorbike and have no intention of ever doing so, especially at that speed! And I have never been to Australia.

It was on the autobahn between Hamburg and Bremen.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Bushmanoz Only just noticed that you actually did that! That must have been quite a thrill!
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@ninalanyon yeaj..i guess, it was really stupid. I looked over the screen to feel what it was like and my helmet pushed right against my face

144, my car shakes after that
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Jeesh you guys are all slow pokes!

Fastest I personally drove... 209.21 km/hr in Nebraska.

Fastest I have ridden.. 217.26 km/hr again in Nebraska.

The Datsun 280z top out at 217.26 km/hour it wasn't mine yet the owner was a crazy driver. From 235 mph to 0 in 15 hair raising seconds is what made him crazy!
helenS · 36-40, F
@questionWeaver There's an upper limit: the speed of light. 😑
@helenS I was taking it easy
Alison · 18-21, F
210 km/hr ish. I dunno that cars Speedo used to stop at 160 km/hr, it didn't have the stock engine🤷‍♀️, had it past O🤷‍♀️.
helenS · 36-40, F
90 km/h perhaps? Certainly not over 100 km/h. It's my sister's car.

@Maruti800isthebest At 90kmh the stopping distance is more than 100 m. 💀
Translation for you non-metric guys:
At 55mph the stopping distance is more than 110 yd. 💀
WandererTony · 56-60, M
I think I have done 130 kmph on the highway. I loose road grip beyond that on my car.
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
160 km/hr. Motorbike. Sold it. Still alive
Steve42 · 56-60, M
108 mph. My rebuilt 1969 vw bug.
Rhonda · F

Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
not a car, but 240kph on a bike racing another bike on the freeway, really really stupid
helenS · 36-40, F
@Bushmanoz Yes – shame on you! 🤨

A business trip to Germany, company Vic president took me for a ride on the Autobahn in his car.

I come back home a brought one the same
0 - 250 kml/hr = 15.1 sec Top speed, we slowed down at 268

@helenS I always thought it was just because they didn’t have a speed limit there (up until last year). The drivers there tend to be pretty good too, from what I’ve seen and heard. Apparently to get your license in Germany, it’s super tough and you take many tests.
I’m still not a fan of the high speeds there though. Shit scared me!
helenS · 36-40, F
@SW-User For example, bad guys from Switzerland do illegal street races in Germany, because it's considered a trivial offense in Germany, whereas in Switzerland they would go to jail and do a long time there.
SW-User
@helenS God.. the lengths people go to just for their “fun”. What a way to put everyone in danger! Idiots they are
