So Covid has settled in like a not so welcome companion but our routine has become comfortable in some way.

I started with one of those asbestos prevention mask, for a few days, then my sis in lay decided to make them for free for folks who needed them. I now have a crap load of every color.

Like most of you I don't complain but I have anxiety issues and wearing one takes all I have in a store, thinking I'm going to faint or have a seizure.

My friends drop over and maintain a distance. We are elders and at high risk but so far this community has been fairly clear.

I know it's a hardship for many. But as a former nurse who has seen patients a face horrified by the suffocation she can feel coming and the horrible realization there is nothing medically we can do.

Somehow my complaints about mask wearing amounts to the most trivial non-issue.

Carry on folks and stay happy.

We're shutting it down again today in Minnesota. Bars, gyms, restaurants - gathering places. Restaurants can offer carry-out.

We've mandated masks and it's made a difference. But we're surrounded by the daily Top 5 Hot Covid States who are all just too damned 'free' to be inconvenienced with battling this pandemic at a personal level.

Mayo's ICU system is full. Think about that. Their pop-up COVID out-patient therapy centers are at capacity as well. Science & experience have told us from the start that 18 months would be a very prompt and successful timeline for bringing the virus to some sort of control. We are not yet at 8 months of any sort of organized response here in the US. Expect another 10 months no matter how promising the vax news may be.
@hlpflwthat Having lived on the border of your state many years I got to know your people and the land very well, Duluth was beautiful and I saw the famous murder mansion. So many things to do. It makes me sad that a place that brought me so much happiness is going through the most historical disaster in any of our lifetimes.

As you know, everything changes eventually. Be steadfast and stay determined the people of this state are far stronger than Covid. All my best.

I can't stand it either but I figure it's a small inconvenience to keep everyone around me, and myself included, safe.
