Why is the music when you're "on hold" so f*cking boring?

It's much, MUCH better than what we have here in India... Here, when you get put on hold by someone, there's an annoying middle aged woman automated voice that speaks in the regional language THEN Hindi THEN English to tell you that you've been put on hold and she just will not run out of breath
