Johnny Depp and 'cancel culture'

A little while back my friends all turned on Johnny Depp big time after the abuse allegations. Now it seems he had been the victim the whole time but in their eyes, he's evil and that's that. It's hardly a big deal in the scheme of things but I do feel awkward now, like I have to join in when they bad mouth him or I'm 'not in the gang'. This is happening a lot more amongst us where I don't share thoughts they have on things but can't speak up. I sort of wish I was brave enough to do it but I really feel they would turn on me. I partly feel that if that's true, I'd be better off without them but it's hard to make new friends when you're older!
