@SW-User I think it's kind of based on context and who you'retalking to at this point. It's a newer concept called monophyly where life divides into clades. As a population diversifies it's divided into further clades, but can never leave a previous clade. Each circle in the diagram is a clade. Under this model we are also fish, so it can be counterintuitive.

Good question... Perhaps it's because unlike animals living in the wild we don't need to her ourselves all the time.
