What's a good book you've read recently?

I have two still to read, having heard them read in instalments on the radio but missed a few episodes of each:

How To Argue With A Racist, by science journalist (and I think scientist?) Adam Rutherford - analysing such prejudices, and the flaws and mis-use of science by those who barely understand it, that support such prejudices.

The Second Sleep - a novel by Robert Harris, set in an England of eight centuries hence, but unusual in its primary prediction not falling into the traps of either utter Armageddon or continued technical progress.

I bought these through the Radio Times mail-order service, but two others I keep promising myself are Mervyn Peakes' Gormenghast, and Philip Pullmans' His Dark Materials.

The Good Book. Not the humanist version though. I mean the Bible.
the book of joy and currently a book on caffeine, both as audiobooks.
