Can you be friends with someone whose moral compass doesnt align with yours?

Or can you just enjoy hanging out with them and stay out of their immoral business because it doesnt effect you?

Example: You know that they cheat on their spouse

One of my closest friends is the complete polar opposite of me, and neither of us could care less.

Was for many years with quite a few. But I think that was due to not standing firm on the principles of my own moral compass. And believing if I accepted them I could help them change their ways.

it seriously depends how far from mine theirs' deviates. i'm totally down with people being individuals, but there are some morals that simply must be upheld.

Not really. But depends on what they did or think is ok. The thing is though, that a lot of people who seem to be the most awesome, tend to have 1 or 2 things I really can't stand.

You can but it will wear you down eventually
