In the state of Florida, prostitution is a misdemeanor, but massaging without a licenses is a felony? Does that make sense?

Yep.

Floriduh.

Actually, in all seriousness, if a person isn't licensed to do massages, it's assumed they didn't take the courses required that teach you the various techniques and how to avoid injuring a person.
@SW-User and if you deal in prostitution the worst that you can do it give someone an STD or AIDS....

I love living in Florida :)@SW-User

It is for the greater good to prevent the relaxation of the populace. When someone is buying or selling sex, they are nervous and stressed and that makes them too busy to see what the man behind the curtain in the Emerald City is up to.

Allow indiscriminate and unlicensed massage and you will unleash a dangerous mob who can see and think clearly, and who can tell what may happen then?

"but honest officer, I wasn't giving him a massage I was giving him a handjob finish - you just ruined his orgasm"
They are looking out for the legitimate, licensed masseurs.

Those two things are not related.

I don't know, I've never got the big deal of consensual sex and getting money.
