Do you think motivational speakers have any real effective long term effect on attendee's?

I am cynical about this. While I would love to be one, I also know that increasing positive adaptive behaviors takes a lot of time and concerted effort.

Probably some good suggestions that help some folks, but life changing? I doubt it. I would love to be wrong though

Motivation is like a shower. You need it everyday.

To be honest motivational speech is fine, it just uplifts you and gets you going, but it never gets anything done. What get things done is your effort and habits. No one tells you to get up in the morning and brush your teeth. That’s because it’s a habit. Likewise things you wanna do should be a part of your lifestyle. Motivation won’t help much if you do nothing about it.
@SW-User All great observations (especially the habit behavior) I learned that through going to the gym. The first two weeks was painful drudgery, not long after, it came really uncomfortable if I DIDN'T go. Well worth the effort.
